It is important for us to realize that some people try to present themselves as peacocks when they are really snakes. These are dangerous ones. They can often be spotted because they are just a little too darned perfect. They have no warts at all. God makes A’s on tests. They make B’s, and everyone else makes C’s, D’s, or F’s. Give me a break. Nobody’s that perfect! But, even if they were, they probably wouldn’t want to associate with me!
One caution, however as a parting shot, you must genuinely care about people, and their concerns. If you try to fake it, they will detect your insincerity, and your efforts at friendliness will backfire on you.
